MG TF roadster likely to die this year
MG is relaunching in the UK first - in summer 2011 with the arrival of the 6 hatchback and saloon. It's a half-sized family car straddling the C- and D-segments, a bit like Skoda's Octavia, and will be priced aggressively. The company says the MG 6 will cost from £17,000-£20,000 when first deliveries happen in April 2011.
Jeremy and James play with Crossovers and Caravans in tonight’s Top Gear
Surprisingly, we’re almost at the end of Series 20 of Top Gear, with tonight’s episode, episode 5, the next to last in the current series. The ‘consumer advice’ bit of tonight’s show focuses around crossovers and caravans. James and Jeremy have concluded that crossovers are the perfect cars for caravanning, so they grab a pair of crossovers – one from Volkswagen and one from Mazda – and do a day living life as a caravanner in the New Forsest and back at the Top Gear track.
The Vauxhall Adam – Vauxhall and Opel’s MINI competitor – will start from £11,255 when it goes on sale in January 2013. And with prices announced from £11,255 it looks like the Adam may just have a fighting chance of taking a piece of the market dominated by MINI and the Fiat 500. Of course, GM are hoping that no one who goes in to a Vauxhall showroom will go out with a basic car – a vast array of style and customisation options are the order of the day with the Adam – but the headline starting point is a decent one.
